Paul Buchanan, a resident of Landrum, SC, will appear at The Book Shelf in Tryon on Saturday, 17 February, from 2 to 4 p.m. to meet folks, chat about his books, and sign copies of “Docksteder Tales Book 1: The Carolinas”.

Buchanan is a retired physician, flight surgeon, commercial pilot, and flight instructor. He is a former NASA executive and was crew physician for at least two historic NASA missions. He is the author or coauthor of dozens of articles published in medical and scientific
journals, many having to do with the physiological and life-support issues to be faced in future long- duration space missions. On retirement from NASA, Paul turned his attention to writing fiction.

“Docksteder Tales Book 1: The Carolinas” was released last December and is the first in a series of novels. In this multifaceted story, a famously eccentric author moves to the foothills of North Carolina (Tryon, actually), where he takes a young writer as his protégé and introduces him to the wilder side of life.

“Docksteder Tales Book 1: The Carolinas” is available at The Book Shelf, 86 N Trade St., Tryon, NC, and wherever books are sold.
